HLFP advises on EUR 450 million “North Rhine-Westphalia Centre” project in Chengdu, Central China
Hoffmann Liebs Fritsch & Partner provided comprehensive advice to HUCH Rheinland Investment GmbH as it carried out contractual negotiations and concluded an extensive investment cooperation agreement with the municipal government of the Chinese city of Chengdu (Chengdu Tianfu New Area Administrative Committee). The matter essentially involves the implementation of the EUR 450 million “North Rhine-Westphalia Centre” large commercial and housing project in the Province of Sichuan, a project which includes the complete planning, development and realisation of the site on a total area of more than 541,000 m2.
The North Rhine-Westphalia Centre project is a major scheme to design and build a mixed commercial and residential zone, which is politically desirable for the People’s Republic of China and the State of North-Rhine Westphalia (NRW). It will be implemented under the new German standards and in accordance with the requirements of German investors within the Region of Chengdu. Advice on the project was also provided during the recent delegation trip by Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Gabriel and NRW Construction Minister Groschek at the beginning of November.
Advice was provided to HUCH Rheinland Investment under the leadership of China Desk Partner Christoph Schmitt (Corporate Law/M&A, Contracting). The team of advisors also included Ding Han (also Corporate Law/M&A/Chinese Law).
